Osteopathy for Kids

Osteopaths are interested in helping children develop in a balanced and healthy way and to help them achieve their full potential. Each child is unique with their own story of their life and osteopaths consider the whole child in their examination and treatment.
Osteopaths believe that imbalances, strains and restrictions in the musculoskeletal framework of the growing child can not only cause discomfort, but also influence normal growth and development in many different ways.
Osteopaths have a detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology and a highly developed sense of touch which they use to detect and release areas of tension and structural imbalance. Osteopathic treatment is aimed at maintaining good mobility and balance in the musculoskeletal framework of the body. This provides the optimal physical environment for the body to function and develop.

Common Problems

Aches and Pains – Children and teenagers are naturally active and often have minor falls that can upset the physical balance of the body. A child who is physically uncomfortable over a long period of time may not complain of aches and pains, because the child may just accept them as normal, but signs in their behaviour may indicate that something is not right for them.

Florian Lassnig, MPh, RMT, DOMP, BSc, DO (Spain), RMO

I moved from Austria to Canada in 2004 and fell in love with Manitoba(ns) on first sight. From 2005-2007 I studied Massage Therapy at the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy. In 2010, I started my journey into Osteopathy. I studied at the Canadian College of Osteopathy, the National Academy of Osteopathy and later on at the National University of Medical Sciences in Spain. After returning from Spain in early 2020, I re-opened my small private clinic space in Morden, Manitoba. Besides occasionally escaping to Austria, my family and I are very happy in this community - for us it is the right place to raise a family.

I am member of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba, the Manitoba Osteopathic Association, the Canadian Union of Manual Osteopathic Practitioners, the Canadian Alliance of Alternative Medicine and the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths.
